What are you going to be learning in the College and Readiness Class?

You will learn about programs and applications that are most commonly used today.  In this class you will be learning about the different career clusters which explain the different careers that exist and you will be selecting one to research and get more information about it.  Will go over the high school endorsements so you will become more familiar since you will be selecting an endorsement next semester to register for high school. Texas Success Initiative (TSI) test contains questions that measure proficiency in Reading, Writing, and Math.

What are you going to be learning in the Data Entry Class Second Semester?

You will learn how to type the alphabetic and numeric keys using different programs in the computer and online.  The home row keys which are the most important keys in the keyboard will be the starting point in learning the rest of the keys and numbers.  Your will also learn proper desk and chair posture to use while typing in the computer. Students will be required to advance in accuracy and speed as the semester progresses.  Every six weeks students should be typing and at certain speed to be able to advance in their learning process.

Classroom Expectations

  • Enter/Exit room quietly

  • Respect teacher, peers, yourself, and all property

  • Follow directions the first time they are given

  • Be seated and prepared before the tardy bell

  • Keep hands, feet, objects and negative comments to yourself

  • Food or drinks are not allowed in the computer lab

  • No student will be allowed in the halls at any time the first and last 15 minutes of class.
